So you want the Flyers to trade Gudas and Simmonds for a younger Michael Raffl, a re-boot of Andy MacDonald's contract, a goalie they likely have in Stolarz or Lyon, and a 2nd round pick? No thanks. We've seen that show before.

I will watch it again if it helps the leafs in the playoffs.

What I'm looking at to start is a different approach to a rental. I'm not sure a late 1st or 2nd for Simmonds helps philly much as they are in more of a retool than a rebuild. and Brown is a good young player who is buried on the leafs depth chart, thinking that might be close to something that works for both sides. I don't know what philly has coming for goalies, so I thought a kid with upside might interest them. Gudas is a piece I like but his value isn't high. I thought maybe taking a shot on a goalie and helping the leafs shed Ziatevs salary would intrigue them. Maybe the pick is a 1st instead to get it done. But don't make it sound like Simmonds and Gudas are perennial all stars. They won't fetch much. Simmonds maxes out as fetching a 1st. But it's a buyer's market, and Gudas is a 4-6 D man. Again not netting a kings ransom.

The point was the trade is terrible. The Flyers easily decline.
