Realistically speaking, a Hamilton currently playing less than stellar will not fetch a 1st *and* a top 6 F on a stacked Leafs front end. Also, Kap is a free agent next season, and the Canes wouldn't have the capital to sign him to a deal longer than a bridge.

In trading two RHD in Hamilton and TVR, Oleksiak (being a RHD himself) makes more sense for the return from PIT, especially considering that Rust really wouldn't have a spot in the top 6, which is less than ideal for his cap hit.

I think the RHD situation comes down to whether or not Fox signs. if he'll sign if we clear room for him, then we should clear room and upgrade the offense by trading our RD. He'd play well with De Haan
