Good deal for the Leafs, and the retention makes him pretty affordable on the back end. But the Habs D is already not very good and there's an argument that can be made that Petry is the most valuable defensemen they have. <--- (just my opinion, dont come after me) So losing him would really hurt, especially since Price hasn't been himself since the start of last season.

It was an ugly turnover, but I wouldn't read too much into it.

I understand that Muzzin rode Doughty's coattails to the Cup five years ago (Voynov was arguably the best Kings Dman that series) but what have Pietrangelo and McNabb ever accomplished? They qualified for the playoffs. Big whoop. Neither is a winner. I'm not saying Petry is — or that this trade is any good — but the Leafs would be nuts to pass on him because he lacks some mythical "history of winning".
