My comments, just to be organized are broken down by Trade

WPG- NYR- Hayes would get a 1st in a trade easily, but NYR don't want Kulikov in return, we would need a legit NHL ready prospect in return.

ANA- NYR- NYR shouldn't have to retain money, but that's a very low level trade with minimal impact

NSH- NYR - again, NYR would need something better in return. Salomaki doesn't fit the mold for what NYR would want in return. They need young talent, not a 4th line depth player (based on his stats).

I agree, I just am skeptical of teams giving up a good prospect unless they know that Hayes or Zucc would re-sign with them since they will both be UFA's

it doesn't matter if they will resign or not. trade deadline trades to cup contenders are always overpayments.

Think about what we got for Rick Nash, Holden, Grabner last year. All of them were rentals.
Zucc and Hayes > Nash

Nash got a 1st rounder and a c+ prospect in lindgren, along with Spooner for taking 1.9 million of Beleskey

Zucc - 1st and a b- prospect
Hayes - 1st and a b+ prospect (last year hayes wouldn't get this, this years hayes will. On pace for over 65-80 points with all positive numbers [possession, faceoffs, etc])
