you are not getting Vesalainen or Tolvanen under any circumstances. They are both 19 yr old ELC's who have already tore up the KHL. NHL get ready

top prospects a routinely traded by cup contenders to make them win now. Hayes is having a career year on pace for roughly 65-70 points (or if he keeps up his production from november till now, 75-80).
Teams will pay an arm and a leg if he keeps up his current pace for the next two months. I understand Ves is probably the jets top prospect and i really only see them trading him if an extension is reached with Hayes (and the rangers would get the 2nd rounder).

The rangers said the same thing about Duclair after he scored 50 goals in 59 games in 13-14 in QMJHL (and made himself the rangers top prospect)-- yet he was included with a first round pick for Yandle. Yeah QMJHL and KHL are different but I'll get into why your KHL comment doesn't hold much value

You are saying he "tore up the KHL" when he's played a total of 8 games there. He has a respectable 5 points in those 8 games, He played very well in Liiga but that is maybe the fourth or fifth best league behind NHL/AHL, SHL and KHL.

Tolvanen is a different story as he legitimately tore up the KHL last year. Unfortunately his game hasn't really transferred to NA. in the AHL he was a .5 point per game player and that has translated (on a small sample size) to the NHL with 2 points in 4 games.
Kreider is quietly having a career year on pace for 35+ goals (getting overshadowed by hayes lately), it really depends on how desperate nashville is, also kreider is not a rental as he is signed for another year. at a 2 mill cap hit it's hard to have nashville not consider.

Overall this thing is all for fun and who knows what happens.

You are trading away Hayes, Zuccarello, Namestnikov and Kreider and get ONE first round draft pick? Unacceptable.

I know you have Tolvanen and Vesalainen (both will be tough to pry away from their respective teams) but they've been outproduced by Lias Andersson, who half the NYR fans have already soured on.

I know saying vesa tore up the KHL is a stretch but my point is that the jets would rather give their 1st than vesalainen right now. And onto your point that top prospects are routinely traded- they are not. Dallas said not to trading heiskaninen for Erik karlsson. Now I am not saying that vesa is equal to heiskaninen but he will not be traded unless it’s for a long-term investment ( jets don’t have cap space for one) or another top prospect

Dallas is a poor example. First of all, they are not one of the upper echelon teams. They are a potential playoff team yes, but they really don't fit in with teams like WPG, NSH, TOR, TBL, WSH, etc. Secondly, if you look at Dallas' depth chart, they have a top RHD. They have not had good LHD in years. Why add Karlsson for one season when you are not a true contender, Karlsson wouldn't make them a true contender, and give up your franchise LHD prospect. Karlsson didn't make logistical sense for dallas.

If you look at WPGs team, they are stacked at wing but could use some bolstering down the center. Giving up a wing prospect wouldn't hurt them that badly as they already have Ehlers, Laine, Connor, etc at wing.
Hayes is having a career year on pace for minimally 65 points (as stated previously potential 75-80 points this year). These players are RARELY traded at the deadline and when they are, they get a tremendous haul (even as a rental). If there is a bidding war between two teams NYR may be able to get two first round picks for him (seeing as the market for 65+ point centers at the deadline is around that)

To put Hayes into perspective. Paul Stasny had 40 points in 63 games at the time of his trade, Hanzal had 26. Both of them went for more than a 1st round pick. Kevin Hayes has 27 points in 33 games (23 points in his last 21 after a slow start). In 63 games at his paces he will have 51 points (avg pace all season) or 59 if he keeps up his pace from the last 21 games. He plays in all situations (like the other players), has similar possession stats with 2/3 of his points as primary points (and has always had 70%+ in primary points throughout the years).

But we will see what happens. I think Hayes goes to either WPG, Carolina, or Colorado

Ok let’s take TBL as an example. TB refused to move cal Foote for karlsson as well and Foote and vesalainen are in the same league.
Finally, I say one more thing. You overvalue Hayes way too much. Hayes is worth about the same amount as stastny and stastny and he fetched a 1st and a b prospect. I am sorry but Hayes is not worth vesalainen and a 3rd as a rental no matter if he is point per game or not.
A better option is Hayes for petan, samberg (A prospect) and a 2nd that becomes a 1st if he resigns)
