Penguins don't need a goalie! Don't think Vanek wants to be moved; he signed with a NMC for a reason. Don't think Toronto bites, but the Nyquist one makes sense.

I think Toronto trade makes sense. they need D and they get Glendening for 2,5 years 900k caphit.

Having to move Brown and a 2nd for him and half a year of Kronwall might not be the way to go to be fair. Can make sense to a certain degree, but I don't know if they do it.

As a redwings fan; I think you’re over valuing our players. Nyquist could fetch a 1st but that would prob be it, no prospect to boot. I don’t think Vanek wants to move and what would the point even be for anything less than a third; I’d prefer keep him to mento the kids. I think Pitt is a good landing spot for Howard but not sure about that return; DeSmith has been playing pretty well as of late and I doubt they would part with Matta for a rental.

The Pens do need a goalie! Their best chance for a deep playoff run would probably be a combo of Howard and DeSmith in net. With that I don’t know the return that would work best for both teams in terms of a trade. Det would need a G in return because there are none ready to jump into the NHL currently in the pipeline.

You could be right. The wings just went through this with Mrazek though: came out strong, looked like the goalie of the future, but when given the starting job he crumbled and never recovered.
