The rumors surrounding the Flyers and Nylander deal is that the leafs are looking at Sanheim because they want a young defenseman, still on his ELC, with good analytics and if the Flyers wanted to capitalize on this the trade would probably have to include Simmonds as well. But, the rumor mills are also saying Nylander is asking for over 7, some saying as much as ten million, a year. If this is true, i don't know if any team would take him

The last rumour I saw was a young NHL D, a prospect, and an NHL forward. I'd happily add Simmonds as I don't think we should bring him back. $7.5 is reasonable for Nylander. Two 61 point seasons when he's likely to get better and you'd be paying for his prime years too. If he gets to an 80 point player at 7.5 it's a good deal, essentially assuming the cap keeps increasing.

Am I the only one who thinks this kid is not worth all the money and drama? 60 points playing on a line with Matthews isn't really that impressive and no way warrants a $8 mil/year long term contract at age 22. I want no parts of this trade or signing.
