That was right before the expansion draft. The team trading him doesn't get a ton of leverage in that deal. @SmugTkachuk also said this is just a base, with no fine details mentioned. Who's to say there isn't an extension involved?

That would be one of the tweaks that could be made with the trade, I was wondering more what the thoughts were on this as a staring point. I agree for sure, something would have to be in place.

In regards to the deal, I think it's an easy accept from LA and Calgary, though I think with the lack of a goalie going back their way I think Columbus declines. Maybe include Rittich or Campbell going to CBJ, or even possibly swap Brodie and Smith's destination?

In the cap era you need the goalies in your system to come up if rittch can be as stable as he has been I dought they spend 7+ mill for a goalie, Bobrovsky aint the best goalie in the league and to spend that much for a ufa is stupid, flames need to restock thier prospect pool with the additions of dube andersson and valamaki

if I'm CBJ I take this **** and run. Matter of fact I probably never pick up the phone from you again because you are probably going to be pissed about this trade later. But then again if I can fleece you for this much maybe I can take advantage of you later. tough call really.
