Description
The go for it leafs are adding Stamkos despite the costs to add skill and leadership. There is a need to also add some skilled but Babcock type D, in Demers and B Smith to also add some veteran leadership and responsibility. And, perhaps, the most important piece is adding a goalie who can be counted on, Andersen or someone like Andersen. Sure hope Joffery Goes For It too!

I like your lineup! It makes the Leafs better now but, I don't see it hurting us by giving up Youngsters.
I question Brendan Smith as it was commonly stated in the media that He wasn't a Mike Babcock type player
when they were both in Detroit.

That's not going to get you Andersen. Ducks have no need for another high priced centre. And Percy? He probably going to let go by the Leafs and you have him as a cog to acquire a starter goalie?
No Carrick, no Corrado, no Leivo, no Sos?. Stamkos and Anderson makes the Leafs better, but not the Smith brothers.

I think Bozy, Percy (a former 1st round pick), and a 2nd round pick is plenty for Andersen, Pal. Freddie has to move in the next year or be lost for nothing, nada, diddly squat to expansion. Frankly, that marginalizes his value somewhat. The Ducks want to replace ineffective UFA Horcoff at centre with someone much more productive (Bozak's PPG matches Kesler's!) and the other pieces are solid. That is plenty. However, you and Finny are probably right about Brendan Smith and I have upgraded to Trouba who's probably a better fit anyway but costly. Ben Smith plays the way Babcock wants and I will be very surprised if doesn't earn a spot in the press box. But, you'll like the Leivo edit. I totally agree Connor Carrick's a player for the Leafs at some point but be honest, if he's starting in September, it's gonna be another ugly year. I also really like Sosh and expect he gets time with the Leafs next year, but he won't start ahead of the RW's on the board, in my opinion.

All the missing guys you mention are rookies and, by my count, we will already have 7 rookies in the line up for 16-17. There needs to be some experience and leadership on any NHL team, more so with a younger group. It's a careful balance and I am pretty sure Lou isn't going to send out a team of very talented but inexperienced players to get slaughtered. I think management is feeling they have turned the corner and they want to go for it!
