Yeah, the Habs are playing really good right now but this is still a team with structural issues. Let's not blow the rebuild on a short term attempt to hit the playoffs this year and severely mortgage the future.

I agree, I don't suspect that they will be in a position to add come trade deadline time, although this trade still has them keep all of their key young players and picks, except Mete but Leddy is under contract for a few seasons beyond.

Remember when they went undefeated in their first 10 a couple years ago? What happened then? Don’t get ahead if yourself, it’s a long season. Your roster is still pretty mediocre and maintining the early season success will be difficult. Price is the great equalizer if he is back to normal. Like Roy before him he has the ability to make mediocre rosters look like contenders. And you have the benefit of playing in a division with Buffalo, Detroit, and Ottawa so getting to the middle of the division and in the hunt is not that far fetched. Good luck.
