That's not very much for fleury. Really think that's his value? A third liner and a no name.

He's 31 years old, his value isn't much higher. It's crazy how people are expecting Hamilton and/or Bennett and/or first round pick for him. I think it's a good trade because:
Backland is a good two way player who netted 20 goals and almost 50 points this season. He's versatile so he'd look nice on Genos wing.
Porier is a solid, young forward prospect. Something we don't have many of

Agree with Matt. And Fleury's NTC, how many teams will he agree to be traded to. It's nice to get fair value for your players that "are no longer needed", but sometimes ridding yourself of the player for cap flexibility is just as important.

Guys, Murray has less than 20 games at the NHL level.

Anybody remember Andrew Hammond? How great he was for his first run with the Sens last year? And everyone calling to trade Anderson because Hammond was the next great goalie?

Hammond can't even hold the backup spot this year.

All I'm saying is, it won't hurt to run Murray/Fleury as a tandem for one year to make sure you've got what you think you've got in Murray. Don't jump the gun.
