I agree. Read's got to go. If they can dump the read contract we can bring in Backes and Okposo for scoring ability and try to dump Streit's contract to prepare for resigning Ghost next year. Also, they have to start thinking about what to do with their goalies since they are both going into contract years. If they don't plan on retaining one of them it might be wise to move them at the trade deadline.

Good point, Nate. Although challenging, I think it's doable to dump Read and Streit and make way for two pretty significant UFAs to really jolt the offense (perhaps Backes, which would give the Flyers better leadership, and Okposo). Also getting Umberger off this team is critical, a buyout may be fine or drop him to the AHL all year, whatever makes most sense given the cap situation.
