Description
To address the comments on my previous team:

I am a sens fan but things need to change..

I agree that Eric Stall is not a first line center I put him there because he has more experience than the rest and none of Ottawa other centers are true number 1 centers either. Don't be a homer and think they are just because they are on the sens.

Mike Hoffman is a good goal scorer but doesn't work hard in his own end. I think Ottawa should sign him to the RFA contract and then deal him while they still can. I chose the Canucks to deal him because Ryan Miller didn't have a great year and he has 2 mil more against the cap than Anderson. They are essentially the same goalie at this point.. A Borowiecki is a decent player to toss into the trade along with a pick. I think Vancouver would do this because they are cap strapped and need scoring help now.

Ceci I gave a bit more dough because he is a hometown kid I just hope he starts playing a little more consistently.

I agree Neil is staying for his 1000th game unfortunately. I really wish he wasn't. He is a great guy, good in the community but he was done 2-3 years ago. I don't believe in just keeping a guy around because he is a good guy. Ottawa has to get out of that mindset. They signed Redden over Chara because he was a "good guy", traded Ben Bishop over Anderson because he is a "good guy" and then did the same with Spezza again instead of trading him at or near his peak they kept him until he didn't care to play here any more and got far less back for him then they could've a couple seasons earlier, Chiassson? I mean come on he is awful. I can't believe they traded away prince and kept chiasson. One guy they should've paid to keep around for his final year was Alfie and they screwed that up too haha. Sorry about that rant just had to get it off my chest.

Unfortunately Ottawa might be stuck with Macarthur. I think he is a really good player when he is healthy but after last season I don't know if that will happen again. I hope it does but for his own health if you can't come back from a concussion after 6 months you may want to consider retiring for his own health. If he comes back healthy great! The trade to Anaheim was wrong I thought they only had him for another year didn't realize they had him for 4 more.

The money for Stall is not that bad. He is only 31 and he has played in a non hockey market. hopefully coming back to a hockey market closer to home and with some talent around him would re-energize him. None of Ottawa's other centers are any better. They have flashes but not consistent. This guy can still be a second line center for the next few years. Buys Ottawa time to hope that one of the other guys steps up.

That trade with Vancouver is just horrible, and Hoffman would not sign that contract. Hoffman has been a plus player in the last two seasons, meaning that he is not horrible defensively. Anderson > Miller. Ottawa won't trade valuable players for draft picks. Ottawa is not rebuilding, and they are tying to compete with Karlsson in his prime, and trading Anderson and Hoffman does not help Ottawa compete while Karlsson is in his prime.

Regarding Staal. Don't tie up a guy like that up for 4 years. And really his last few years he has not even been up to average. There has to be better value out there especially with teams wanting to get rid of cap space.
Gee, for Miller and Staal you could sign Stamkos.

Hoffman is bad defensively if he was great Ottawa would be giving him what he is asking for haha. He is a restricted free agent that's what he will get in arbitration Ottawa citizen sports writer quoted that salary. Anderson is no better than Miller he is a better deal but the trade works because it gives Vancouver a 2 mil in cap savings for their goalie. Anderson hasn't been as good since the Montreal series where he was awesome shoulda traded him then and now we would still have bishop.. Ottawa should be rebuilding cause that team isn't going to win a cup. I don't care how much of a homer you are and pray for it to happen it's not gonna happen haha. Quit kidding yourselves is the team with Hoffman and Anderson going to beat Washington or Pittsburgh in a 7 game series? No

4.25 mil for Staal is not much when the cap keeps going up. Yes you could offer him less years but he will likely get that elsewhere and I think we can all agree if he could even get back to 80% of what he used to be he would be one of Ottawas best forwards. Miller is a stop gap goalie for 1 year left on his contract to let Ottawa get a free agent next summer or see if the hamburglar or to see if one of the young guys in the AHL is ready to step up.

Then explain Hoffman being a plus player. And please stop, Anderson has been holding this team up all season, he has not deteriorated at all, you cannot compare him at all to Ryan Miller. Ottawa shouldn't be rebuilding, they have the right players, they just need good coaches, which they're getting. You need to do some research.

Hoffman is a plus player because the coaching staff didn't put him on against the other teams best players. Because he isn't good enough they protected him. Anderson is ok but he has slipped but we need new blood between the pipes. Bishop got the team to the playoffs and then Hammond. This year it was all Anderson to the playoffs we didn't make it. Explain that? Miller has only one year left which buys them time to figure out who should be the next goalie. A typical homer always blames the coach and never the players. Paul McLean was a good coach and he is gone because most of Ottawas players aren't right for a Stanley cup caliber team. He even said he tried to teach the players how to play to get to June. They didn't get it and the coach always goes before the star players these days unfortunately. Ottawas players have to change their ways or trade them because you can't win a cup with some of these guys. No heart!
