Toronto is entering Karlsson territory with Nylander. The whole league knows the situation. They aren't gonna help you out with it. The talent balance will swing the other way because toronto is stuck. I wouldn't expect a great return if he's traded. Especially considering the cap hit he's coming with. Their options are limited. 1st they won't trade him to a contender especially in the east. Then how many teams have cap space to fit an 8 million salary.
If you take teams with 4 million + cap space and possible place to land you are down to 11 teams. How many would give up something major for him. My guess is not many.
If you take out winnipeg, nashville, Ottawa (too cheap) and maybe vegas as all being cup contenders you are down to 8. It's slim pickings for trade partners, the return will be slimmer than most people think
