Lol Sutter is not worth a 1st just because an improved team makes the playoffs. I would not give up anything for Sutter, Buffalo does not want him

So the Avs are potentially trading Jack Hughes for Tanev? No thanks

Conditional 3rd rd pick - Becomes 2nd rd if Tanev plays 60 games or more OR if the Avalanche make it to the 2nd rd of the playoffs

It becomes a first (Canucks choice) if both those things happen

So Col is potentially giving up a top-5 pick for what would be their, 3rd pair, rental+1 RD (EJ and Barrie are better)? Tanev would be pressboxed for the 23 games that EJ is healthy just so that 1st wasn't on the table.

Sutter might be worth a late 1st, as a rental, for an all in team. He has a bloated contract for a 3C, and he hasn't been a bastion of health the last few years. The term/money hurts his value more than helps. Buffalo already has their own version of Sutter (Berglund), and Eichel and Mittlelstadt (probably needs a little time) going forward. Markstrom would be the better player to try and trade to Buffalo; their goalies are a big question mark headed into the season. He won't get a huge return, but a 2nd or a 3rd might happen depending how he plays this year.

Roussel is a nice player to have around, but he's not someone many teams would want to be tied to for his $3m x 4 contract. He's a PITA to play against, for sure, but he's the type of player a contending team looks to add for cheap and short term.

MDZ, get what ya can get for him.

Edler is the guy you should be trading. He'll get a good return and is a pure rental. His age doesn't line up well for the post-Sedin Nuks.

A smart coach would only play Tanev 59 games....
Than its only a 2nd lol
Than again has he played more than 59 games in a season? lol
