Description
The Faulk-trade talks have been in Karlssons shadow and now I believe the pressure can be turned on.
This is a big but simple trade!
Puljujärvi and Aho was amazing together in world juniors! I think Teräväinen played with them a year as well. Saarela should get a long and hard look this year as a 3rd line winger.
This can be a really good finnish core for them!

I wanted to add RNH but I couldn't make it into a trade that I'd consider fair. If he'd still play third line center behind McD and Draisaitl it would be possible but now he's the first line LW.
Lucic on the other hand, I wanted to retain 50% but that wasn't realistic. 1,5m is 25% and since the Canes want to become harder to play against they might take on the remainder of his 4,5m.

I also signed Lehtonen to light a fire under Mrasek and Darling but it's a november-signing, not a summer-signing.

The lines aren't set in stone. I believe Saarela could take a spot, Svechnikov might only be there for 9 games, Zykov maybe needs a year more in AHL or Wallmark steals it out of the gate. Necas is there while Rask is out, afterwards he'll either be in AHL or they'll find some solution.

Canes have oodles of cap space and can easily handle Lucic and his salary, especially with some of it retained. They would do well to make this kind of trade, but maybe they should get a bit more back for it ... maybe add Edmonton's 2nd as well.

Are you incabale of reading the explanation? Lucic is in the trade for salary reasons and Oilers retain 25%.
Read the reasoning and try again, 'cause it's about Puljujärvi.

I read it, don't try and insult me. You want positive value back for Lucic and someone who still hasn't proven himself at the NHL? Get outta here, go home

You're doing a great job insulting yourself since you obviously don't have a clue what your talking about.
Lucic is one year from 50+ points, he's overpaid at 6m but at 4,5 and a 3rd line spot in 5vs5 plus a spot in front of the net in the second pp he can be really useful. Canes have a very young team as only one player is north of 30 plus the owner have asked for more "grit" and for them to be tougher to play against.
Atm Faulk is their third best RHD so his value is higher for Oilers, he's UFA in 2020 as well so do it now. Puljujärvi havn't had a good start but it's not a high risk trade, reunite him with the friends he won U18 and world juniors with and he can thrive again. Maybe even be a 60 point player!
I've made this suggestion to both Canes fans and Oilers fans, some wanted Russell to take Lucic spot but this environment can be perfect for Lucic and he can be really useful for the Canes.

The main issue with Lucic is his NMC. He presumably signed with Edmonton to play with McDavid and win the Cup again. While that ultimate goal may not be in the foreseeable future, he would still have to waive his security clause with a huge change of heart.

I had that in mind as the biggest issue. But I also had an episode of Spittin' Chiclets in mind when they talked about Lucic and that he might waive it for the right team. Is Canes the right team? No.. but it's a fair trade for both teams and it can be a better fit for him.

Absolutely! It is solely on the player whether he is happy no content with his situation in regards to NMC. There will always be a place in the league for a guy like Lucic, especially at $4.5M per!

First of all Staal is 30, Williams is 37 so thats wrong. Carolina want no part of a player who scored 3 goals in 70 games when our main forward issue is putting the puck in the net. Puljarvi has no track record in the NHL and has been less then average in every advanced stat I can find. No thanks, if EDM needs faulk fine, not for this package
For Gritt, McGinn Martinook Ferland can all provide that spark and even aho has the capability to smack a guy if it comes to it. I will say it again, Get lost

30 isn't north of 30, 30 IS 30! And Williams is 36, doesn't turn 37 until october 4th.
Puljujärvi has a high ceiling and can use a change of scenery, put him with his friends and he will thrive. Except Ferland whos numbers are boosted from playing with Johnny Hockey and Monahan, none of the other grit-players are productive.
This is a good trade you pancake-eating m*****f****r.

This is a s**t trade you mo**er f**king idiot. Puljarvi is busting, Lucic is just bad. Ferland with Aho and Teravainen he still has that skill around him, North of 30 is anyone older then 30, Staal turned30 months ago meaning he's at least 30 1/12 so he's older then thirty. Pool party does not look good. Other grit guys aren't productive? McGinn hit 60 posts last season and had 35 points so thats wrong you f**king s**t for brains dumbf**k
