Dallas doesn't have the cap to make that deal, nor would they trade Heiskanen for that package.

    41 points in 59 games? about .7ppg

    last 3 seasons

    41 points in 59 games
    39 points in 78 games
    49 points in 80 games

    example trade

    tatar last 3 seasons
    34 points in 82 games
    28 in 62 games
    46 in 82 games

very close id say spooner is better......tatar value in a trade......1st 2nd and a 3rd......so yeah his value should be more than a 2nd

tatar also was part of a trade that brought patches to Vegas......haha I'm very interested in how you claim he's worth only a 2nd?

Tatar brought in a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd because Vegas overpaid, so you can't use that as a basis. As for Spooner, no, those numbers don't equal a first rounder.

If you don't see that Skinner has accomplished much more than Spooner has, I don't know what else to tell you. So save the snarky BS comments for somebody else.

Canes should have gotten a better deal for Skinner. Again, that is not just my opinion, but that of lots of people.
I'm a Devils fan. We have a guy you used to root for named Marcus Johanssson. He has a bit better numbers than Spooner and he only cost us a 2nd and a 3rd. If he's not worth a first, Spooner sure isn't.

he benefitted a lot from being on the #1 pp unit he was a major turnover machine and was constantly injured but thank you for giving a good example......also congrats on the hall trade

honestly though the caps should have let Vegas take mojo and kept Schmidt ......his value was way more than what they got

Bar none, the biggest expansion draft blunder was the Jackets. Handing over a 1st and Wild Bill Karlsson to take on Clarkson's contract and not choose Jack Johnson or Josh Anderson in the expansion. Turns out we didn't even want to resign Johnson and Karlsson is 5 times better than Anderson based on stats alone (let alone position need).
Oh well, hindsight is 20/20 (except for the blind, it is 20/200).

They definitely should have kept Schmidt. I hate that his numbers last season are now being attributed to cheating rather than the increased opportunities he got with Vegas.

Rangers Luc Robitaille traded to the Los Angeles Kings for Kevin Stevens, Rangers traded Doug Weight to the Edmonton Oilers for Esa Tikkanen, Rangers traded Tony Amonte to the Chicago Blackhawks with Matt Oates for Brian Noonan and Stephane Matteau. I'm dating myself a bit but yeah-- idk if anything beats these

Do the Rangers win that Cup with Amonte instead of Matteau, though? ? Excuse me, painful memories.

I believe the capitals refused to pay Scott Stevens and let him walk for 4 1st rounders ....maybe less not 100% sure
