    Petry retained + 2 2nd rd picks gets MTL a lottery protected 1st, Khulikov who has negative value and is considered a cap dump and Nic Petan who is worth a 4th or 5th rd pick...... Petry not retained gets that return alone without taking a cap dump back

    If you saw my other posts, Petan has a great 2018-19 season at .5 points per game. he is a young center with top six upside, worth at least a 2nd or even a 1st.

    How does WPG lose. It solves cap problems, moves the jets down only aproxx. 5 spots in the draft, gets a replacement for Trouba now (Petry) and for the future (Hronek)
    Perreault was going to be moved anyway. Petan wasn't getting his fair share. And Kulikov frees up cap space as well as a chance to revive his career in MTL

    Good deal for Detroit, but I don't think they pull the trigger. Trouba seems to be strategic in positioning himself to become a UFA after signing one more one-year deal and the belief is he has interest in signing with his hometown team. Given the current status of the Wings, giving up futures for a current asset does not make sense, particularly when there could be an opportunity to sign Trouba as a UFA.
