I think trading for these types of centers right now would be pointless. Habs plenty of young centers coming. They're 1 year away. Poehling is here by the end of the season. Kotkaniemi next year IMO, Suzuki possibly this year..... Trade Petry and Byron for pick and prospects as much as possible and if anything take on cap dumps instead.

MMW, Plekanec will not get as much as he did last year. A 2nd and Petan would be an absolute killer trade for the Habs and 4th line depth is really not that expensive to add anymore.

I think a 4th for Benn is spot on.

Schlemko is untradeable. (Right now) Even for a 7th. Best Habs can hope for is waiver claim or that he rebounds in a big way but with the left side looking like Mete, Alzner, Reilly and Ouellet, I think he's going to be a player the Habs just have to keep as a 7th dman until his contract finishes. We have the cap space so it really is no problem if we're stuck with him.

My thought process with Hanzal was to help Domi. Domi's career year was played alongside with Hanzal. So taking Hanzal as a cap dump and receiving some sort of compensation would be a win win in my opinion.

Don't get me wrong under normal circumstances he'd be good pick up but things have changed recently. Habs have an abundance of centers, albeit none are elite. Danault, Drouin (Uuggh I know), Plekanec, Peca, Shaw , DLR, now maybe Hanzal....... How do you give Poehling, Kotkaniemi, Suzuki and possibly other guys like Bitten any real shots?
