This isn't satisfying for the Oilers. Nuge could end up being a better LW then patches for Mcdavid. In there 14 game stint he was on pace for 92pts. Very very small sample size, but makes no sense to trade someone with chemistry on mcdavids wing. Plus Nuge is 5 years younger with 3 years left at 6M, patches will want 7+. Bad trade for the oilers.

Most Canadian fans fail to look the term left in Patches contact in any deal. (as do most Sens fans with their three upcoming UFAs)

sure I understand the contract part but Patches put up 35 goals with David Desharnais as his Center....I could just imagine how many he can put up with McDavid.

Yes he potted 35 goals, Nuge has been a consistent 20+ goal scorer, I imagine he would have the same success with McDavid, which he already has chemistry with...patches could come in and have no chemistry with him, not worth the risk IMO.
