I swear to ******* god I see this ******* trade in every habs lineup. So much of our fanbase overrate Emilen and Eller. BTW Yak has more trade value than a conditional 7th round ******* pick, even though most habs fans don't think so.

    First, its a conditionnal 2nd, not a 7TH!
Second, I have seen many times Edmonton fans proposing Eller,Emelin and 2016 2nd for Yak.

I really don't want Yakupov, he is not oprogressing. Both Eller and Emelin are established NHLers who have paid their dues; Yakupov, not so much.

The trade is indeed horrible, but for Montreal.

Man you're dumb, Montreal clearly wins the trade, look at the cap space they get. Emelin is not worth more than a $1 million, yet, he's paid as much money as Shattenkirk. And Desharnais isn't worth more than a 5th round pick, and I don't understand at all, why Arizona would give up a high draft pick for him. This whole thing is stupid.

Yeah it's so bad, Montreal gets a guy who has so much skill and so much upside (so much that he was drafted 1st ******* overall), whose still in his early twenties. How on earth is that better then a 3rd/4th line centre and a number 5/6 d man amirite?

My point was that Yakupov definitely still has a fair amount of trade value, even if his development was fucked over by Edmonton management. Habs need Yak more than Edmonton needs Emelin/Eller and a 2nd. The fact that your condition on your 2nd was about him getting 30 goals just shows how stupid that trade is. Would you trade a potential 30 goal scorer for Eller Emelin and a 2nd?

You have no clue about how much 29 year old defenceman who can eat 25+ minutes when necessary, and can kill penalties while also punishing opponents while not getting penalized much, are worth.

I am guilty of diung the deal myself. The ourpose is to unload Emelin's salary. On the surface it does make sense Edmonton needs D and a shut down centre. Problem is Edmonton needs a right hand shot Emelin shoots left.

I do believe there is a deal to be made involving Eller & Yakupov but Emelin can't be a part of it.

Yakupov scored 8 last year let's take it easy on the 30 goal talk. The guy is a bust. I'm willing to take a.flyer on him if I can unload some cap space. If for no other reason than his history with Chucky. But the overwhelming odds are that he will never be what he was drafted to be. Not even close. He is 4 years in amd his career high is 33 points. He is a huge defensive liability. Flat out Lars Eller is a better hockey player.

You can still hold out some hope for Yak just because he was drafted 1st. But other guys who were drafted 1st ended up.being busts and he looks to be one of them.
