    Montreal Canadiens offers you Emelin, Desharnais and the 2nd rounder 2016 (Minny's old pick) for Vanek and Pominville straight up. No salary retained. Do you do it?

    Quite simple, we have the cap space to add some offensive players but we don't want to sacrifice long term cap flexibility because we need to sign Price, Pacioretty, etc. Signing big names in free agency means long term deals at probably higher cap hits. Minny gets huge cap relief to be able to sign some high end UFA's if needed, while getting a little added depth with Emelin and Desharnais.
