If the leaves don't solve cap issues by trading Marner, the smallest on roster, then they deserve 2 be blown away.
Keep Nylander, deal Marner&Zaitsev for legit rh D who can move the puck&shoot.

Marner is not getting 8x9 right now. If he want this kind of money he gotta have a really good season this year. Nylander is probably going to get around 6million but I don't think he's down for 8x6 so if im Nylander im down for 5x6.5 or something around that.

First, Marleau can't/won'be traded. Is there no meaning to his NMC? And why trade Zaitsev? If he plays well he worth 4.5m a year. If he isn't playing well, he's impossible to trade without retention.
Your figures on the big three signings....if deserved yep the Leafs might have trade one. So what? For example Nylander. If he's a 7m player as you say, the Leafs can trade him good inexpensive value in return.
Having to many good players on fair contracts is not a problem.
PS. I wish Marleau hadn't been signed. Not saying he isn't deserving of 6.25m (see JVR, Kane contracts), the money could have been elsewhere.

Mathews is not getting more than Tavares, they proly will get the same contract.

Marner has had points where he is the best Leaf on the team. And in the Playoffs he was are best player by far. As much as I love Nylander I can't say the same about him. If you had to choose 1 it best be Marner.
