The 2019 1st might belong to NYR if TBL wins the Cup

Doubt Ottawa accepts it. Foote isn't enticing enough.

I think the offer to the Senators is fairly reasonable, but Bobby Ryan wasn't included, and Killorn is going to Ottawa, so I'm not sure if Melnyk allows that. If the Senators insist on Bobby Ryan being included and refuse Killorn (who also has a modified no-trade clause and doesn't necessarily want to be moved from a state tax-free Cup contender to a high-tax lottery contender), then I say take out the 3rd pick and replace Foote with one of the better forward prospects (preferably Stephens). I think a few teams would give a low draft pick in exchange for Killorn (rather than demanding something in exchange for taking him), as he can consistently score around 15-20 goals and can step his game up when necessary, and there are a few teams that need depth scoring and would accept the salary burden if it means not having to give up anything to get it. As for Bobby Ryan, he's good when he's actually healthy, but I don't think any teams are taking that on without assets. At that point, Yzerman would desperately try to hold onto Foote (and obviously Sergachev and Point), and would also hope to keep Raddysh and Katchouk, but the only way that happens is if another team sees something in one of their prospects that nobody else does (like the Rangers with Hájek).

The 1st round pick has to be changed to a 2020 1st, or a condition has to be added that it's downgraded to a 2nd if the Lightning win the Cup. I think they should be able to do the former without having to change anything else.

I would move Erne to Andreoff's spot and use Andreoff as the 13th forward.

Also, I don't really understand that Stralman trade, since they would have enough cap space to keep him by trading Killorn, and his contract would expire the next year. Stralman would be a much better third-pairing defenseman than Coburn, or they can put him with McDonagh like they did during the playoffs as sort of a shutdown line and have Sergachev and Girardi as their third-pair. I would prefer him as a third-pairing defenseman so that Sergachev can get playing time with McDonagh, and Stralman makes that one of the best third-pairs in the League.

I don't think Ottawa should ask for - or care that much about - a 2019 or 2020 first round pick from Tampa. If Karlsson goes to Tampa, then Ottawa would be getting - at best - the 28th draft pick in the first round. Is that pick really helpful in rebuilding a franchise? It's essentially a second round top end pick. I'd rather an additional prospect that was drafted higher or possesses a higher ceiling.

That's a massive underpayment for him imo.

Why would you trade Stralman for a 3rd?
