The funny thing about this is that RNH was a #1C in the NHL until 2017-18. Yes, I'm including 2016-17, when McDavid scored 100 points - RNH was still Edmonton's #1C based on quality of competition. Only 3 centers in the league faced top lines more than RNH did, and it allowed McDavid an easier time.
Understand I'm not commenting on the proposed trade, just the myth that RNH is not a 1C.
