Boston gets a young 2C in RNH could turn out to be a number 1 playing with/learning from Bergeron, they both play 200ft game. Klefbom has the potential to be a top pairing LHD, has to frame for it at 6'3 215LB, has the skillset also putting up 38 points 2 seasons ago. Pontus adds LW depth with speed

I know some boston fans are going to say not enough value, but this fills organizational needs for both teams. Klef can be swapped out with Nurse also for the deal

Bruins laugh at this trade. And the balls to have a pick going the other way too. Not even close. There is no universe where the oilers can trade for pastrnak without draisaitl being involved.

The funny thing about this is that RNH was a #1C in the NHL until 2017-18. Yes, I'm including 2016-17, when McDavid scored 100 points - RNH was still Edmonton's #1C based on quality of competition. Only 3 centers in the league faced top lines more than RNH did, and it allowed McDavid an easier time.

Understand I'm not commenting on the proposed trade, just the myth that RNH is not a 1C.

um, no. that's not a number 1 center, what you're describing is a checking center. That line normally takes the tough assignments blah blah blah. McDavid had 21:08 TOI that year, RNH had 17:42. first line centers get 19+ a night.

It may be a bad trade for Boston but that doesn't mean its relatively fair deal when looking at it from just the value of players perspective. Majority of people on this site forget that a "fair value" deal can often still be bad for 1 or both teams.
