Why does he need some years? He is arguably the best goalie ever to come out of the CHL and many other goalies have made the jump at his age.

Regardless, that's A LOT to give up for a goalie who's statistically coming off his worst year. You can blame the team in front of him, but no one is going to pay that price for him right now *pun intended ;D*

been watching him for years in the dub and he won gold with canada no denying , its rare a goalie 1st year to win big ,cam ward is the last goalie to leave jr and win in nhl next year,,, hard to think that the flyers at where they are right now and for the next 4yrs that they would not take a trade like this for price and try to win now

Funny thing is this team is going to be a contender for as long as Hextall is running the show. Whether it is with the current core or next it doesn't matter. We are not moving young assets for a super risky goalie on an insane contract.

I understand trades like that need to be made, I just don't think Philly is at the point to be giving up it's top prospects for a run at the cup now. Maybe after another year or two they can consider it.
