I could see the justification in the Perreault deal. The WPG makes here with the Rangers is brutal and destroys their backend. They do not need to trade a top 3 D for guys like Spooner and Howden. They are solid enough up front.

While I doubt the trade happens, I'd retain 50% on Spooner and drop Dano from the trade if I were the Rangers. Spooner (50%), Howden, Pionk for Trouba. Heck I'd even be willing to switch Spooner for Vesey if that's what it took

I’d be reluctant to give up both howden and Pionk. Rather keep Pionk— he’s too raw to give up on. Too limited of a showing when he’s shown flashes of a great player who could eventually be a top pairing. If I’m the rangers I try to sub in Deangelo and maybe a mid pick (3 or 4th round). We have enough centers to afford losing howden. Rangers can’t retain on spooner as he’s an rfa. Would do vesey, howden, deangelo and a 3rd in a heartbeat
