Description
He wants to live in NY, LA or Chi. Replace him with a couple comrades to keep Bob from bolting as well. This is plenty, considering he's pulling a Karlsson/Tavares. The new NHL trend; stars picking and choosing their homes and screwing small markets.

In terms of how much the Rangers are giving up for Panarin, I think I'd be in. Moving Hayes gives us more space down the middle for Chytil and Andersson, and Panarin is just a straight up better player than Namestnikov by a good margin. Not giving up any firsts sounds pretty good to. My only concern about it is that we're not strapped for cap space, and won't be next year. So we could afford to just give him the bag next year. Of course, this deal has to involve an extension with Panarin, we wouldn't trade for him without him being extended as part of the deal.

Sounds like NY would be his first choice. Namestnikov is good. Now settled in after trade shock from only NHL home. I'd take him over JTM in a heartbeat. This trade kinda fits CBJ also.

Well you would have to add more to get them to go through the Hassle of an Extension.

You're right, with Torts there, you might see a lot of Riley Nash there. I doubt you'll see much of Milano or Duke. I haven't heard much from Bob. Does CBJ really want to give him what he'll want? Will he want to bolt?

You don't get Panarin without at least one 1st rd pick. There will absolutely be better offers than this

He says he wants to live in NY, LA or Chi. Cap wise you can eliminate LA and Chi. I'm assuming he'll tone it down and accept a few more locations, although his girl is in fashion somehow and those are the 3 cities for that. New trend; Stars, UFA or expiring, go down the pecking order. This year it starts with Karlsson and JT. Small market GMs are doomed to fail, everybody laughs at them yet players refuse to go there. Then they have to resort to overpaying Ladds and Erikssons... Back to my point, yes you might very well and up getting a 1st from a team like Ana maybe.

TL;DR
You don’t get Panarin without at least a 1st

MTL trade makes no sense I would make 2019 Pick Conditional. If Panarin signs an extension it goes to a 1st rd pick. AS well as maybe try and trade Milano for Buchnevich and take away the 2020 2nd round pick. that way we may or may not get a 1st round pick and NY does not feel screwed for trading away too many future assets Milano for Buchnevich may seem like a decent deal only because they are basically the same player and the sixth rd pick may entice NY to give up Buchnevich
