Description

I know, I know - this is really drastic. But what with Erik Karlsson now almost certainly going elsewhere, it's time to begin the full rebuild. Carolina needs a C; don't tell me Zack Smith wouldn't waive his no-trade clause to go somewhere else. Similarly, Jean-Gabriel Pageau slots in nicely between Anisimov and Kane. Boston is in a "win-now" frame and having Duchene for at least this year might put them over the top. And the Karlsson trade is what I think Ottawa should be asking for. For these four first-grade players, I'm receiving one first-grade player, three prime prospects and four first-round draft picks.

When somebody pulls the trigger on a Karlsson trade, it will be very interesting to see the pieces. Personally, I can't see Tampa trading for Sergachev one year and then trading him the next.

I was just trying to create a little bit of sunshine down the road for this franchise. It looks to me like everyone thinks this team will be a doormat for at least the next half-decade.

pretty much, ya. sens need a full rebuild. they're in a really bad position and likely will be the worst team in the NHL for 3 years or so. look forward to the draft this year....oh wait....
