Carolina would have to heavily overpay for Kadri, Toronto isn't as concerned about their defence as the rest of the fans of other teams are so they won't over spend to aquire a defenceman. Faulk for Kadri isn't a fair deal let alone an over payment. Faulk is expendable and needs to move to make room for TVR, Kadri is the best 3C in hockey and was one of the better 2C's in hockey before the Leafs got Tavares. So with that being the reality, the Leafs won't entertain any offers unless its weighted heavily in their favour. Think Faulk and a top prospect or 1st rounder. I know its not a fair trade but the circumstances are weighted against Carolina.
Which makes it basically makes TO and Carolina unable to trade with each other.
