The Gallagher deal I can't imagine. Gallagher's a decent player but I wouldn't trade Kappy for Gallagher alone never mind as part of a package. Kapanen is going to be the Leafs version of Esa Tikanen- clutch goals, PK, can move up the lineup. Gardiner is just the latest whipping boy for the Leafs Nation who walk past all that he has to offer in terms of superlative creativity and puck control and focus on the fact he can be erratic at times- all players you watch play every day have some warts, Gardiner has way too much to offer to remotely consider trading straight up Gallagher as well.

Love Kapanen as well, and this certainly wasn't an indictment on Gardiner! Believe Dermott ready for top 4 minutes and serious depth behind for the 5/6 role! Moving Gardiner now as unsure whether cap will allow us to keep him after this season. Gallagher more of a protypical 3rd line winger who can contribute to a shut down in your face line led by Kadri!

And considering the current depth at right wing, another mid level guy like Gallagher doesn't make much sense. That package is two players too many as well. Gardiner is more valuable on his own, Kapanen is low cost high upside depth option that the Leafs need given their cap needs and then there is the Goat. And considering you're dealing with Bergevin, he needs centres, and he loves French players, the Goat might be enough.
