Let's all think positive here and maybe Stan actually has a plan. First of all, I dont think we have a cup winning team this season but we should be better than last year.

So what if Bowman's plan is really to let the young guys grow one more year and then come at it hard in 2019-2020. What if Schamltz and DeBrincat fully blossom into top 6 forwards and Hino Sikura also blossom. Then all of a sudden we have depth. Maybe next year, Boqvist and Jokiharju are both ready and the new wave of the Hawks d is here. The two of them are the key here. If they are ready which they can easily be, they have plenty of talent, they should immediately slide into the top 4 and provide a jumpstart to the offensive side of the backend. And if these guys are ready, we don't need to sign any dman for lots of money. We can put that money toward a goal scoring forward, such as Jeff skinner, a guy stan has long admired, but has been reluctant to give up the assets for because he's waiting for next year when we have several NHL ready dman still on their entry level deals.

Just a few of my thoughts, I'm not giving up on this year, but I do think one more buffer year could still workout for us and we can still have a few good seasons with Kane and Toews.
