We will definitely keep Pulju if that's your offer. Not even close lol.
It's not my offer. It's an Edmonton fan offer in response to a much better offer from @Cicciarelli22&Ovi8 but whatever. I just threw in a skilled right defenseman prospect to replace Gryba, and a late pick. If you want to argue about what your offer is, check Caps threads, and find the last one called "Pool Party in DC," or something like that?
My point is that if that's your offer, Washington should take it, and sign some skilled forwards with all their cap space, to push Vrana and Puljujarvi to the AHL while they are waiver exempt. This way, if they can't afford Burakovsky next year, they have a replacement ready.
What is Tom WIlson worth? I have no idea. He is incredibly tough and mean, solid on defense, good at digging pucks out of corners, and capable of surpassing ten goals and thirty points without power play time if he is on one of the best lines in hockey. The Oilers might have two centers as skilled as Kuznetsov, but they might not have a left wing who can shoot the puck quite as accurately as Ovechkin, so they'd probably have to give WIlson some power play time to get him up to that 40 or 50 point player so many Caps fans seem to want to pay him as.
But the point of my post isn't to debate whether or not the Caps accept Edmonton's offer. It's to discuss what to do with the cap space when Caps fans can stop doubling Wilson's salary for landing a bunch of hits and cycling the puck pretty well in the playoffs.
