Im not the maker of this post but I deffinitely see that this is shedding cap space, Winnipeg would love to have that 5.29.. AAV out of their cap space so they could use that money and cap space to sign guys they have to sign like Wheeler and Laine. But it would take more for MTL to get Little, he is cap dumb but still very good centerman

That was exactly what I was thinking. I think the pieces could change but Little would definitely be the centrepiece. This is all pinned on Stastny getting signed by WPG.

I know it is a stretch. I was just trying to think out of the box for a Patches trade.

Out of the box would be taking a bad contract back to get a better prospect.

Fowler > Patches. Fowler is younger than Patches. Fowler as a top pairing dman is more valuable to Anaheim than Patches as a winger.

Nobody is giving you a top pairing guy, regardless of whether they get to extend him or not.

Totally agree. (ANH might not be the right choice for this deal)

But I do think Patches could be traded for a top 2 LHD from some team if the extension was apart of the deal.

I wouldn't say that Little has negative value but if the Jets sign Stastny as there 2nd line C and then have to resign Trouba, Hellebuyck and Morrissey. That will eat up most of there caproom and would have Little being a $5M 3rd line C. So it is something to think about.

Schlemko is apart of the deal because I could see them trading Kulikov contract to also save money and he could fit into the 5-6 spot

Make it benn it makes more sense for winnipeg

I said little has quite a bit of value he could get a 2nd and a 3rd

so he and a 2nd = a cap dump ?

Patch is a better player

35+ goal scorers don't grow on trees

Pacioretty-Getzlaf-Rakell

for 1 year the ducks free up 2 mill cap space on top of their 13 thousand cap

Heck they could go for JT and trade patch or give up eaves and coglianio and picks for nothing

fowler has for his value a not to great contract

He is in his prime so there is no excuse to not be an elite d like he is supposed to be

So tell me why not

Your Habs fan bias is showing...

Fun stat-
Player A)67 games: 37 pts.
Player B)64 games: 37 pts.

Not really sure who under-performed here? Fowler is an elite dman, and he's paid as such. Patches is a solid winger coming off the worst season of his career. You're not getting anything close to Fowler.

No he fowler is not and is a little overpaid

Patch is an elite winger coming off his worst season yes but he is still only 3 years older and is the better player

Look at werenski, povorov, rielly, letang, muzzin THEY ARE EVEN BETTER AND THEY ARE GOOD BUT LOOK AT DOUGHTY HAMILTON KARLSSON

think about how many players have had morer points than patch in the last 5 years

Have you ever actually watched a game that wasn't in the Eastern or Atlantic time zone? Nobody is saying Doughty or Karlsson is similar to Fowler. They're both up to be resigned next year, and they're both going to be paid $10+ mil. Fowler is making $6.5...that's a great contract for the way he plays. Have fun paying Shea Weber until all of us are dead and gone.

Lindholm signed his extension right after his rookie contract was done. Fowler made $4 million/year on his first extension, which was for the seasons that Lindholm is currently getting paid $5.205 for.

But instead, you're going to have Weber's cap hit until the end of time, because you're GM is an idiot and your team is a dumpster fire.

Take a poll and see how many people would rather have Patches than Fowler after last season. Career worst season + season ending knee injury. I can smell the value from over here!
