Winnipeg Roster Moves

Créé par: scarbrow21
Équipe: 2018-19 Jets de Winnipeg
Date de création initiale: 26 juin 2018

Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
It's not sexy but giving up Petan to a team to take Masons CAP hit for the remainder of the year allows the team to be kept together mainly.
Myers would be used as an own rental, Vesalainen potentially added to the top 9 if not Armia takes that spot and Tanev Armias spot.

Chiarot moved for a cheaper Morrow to sit in the PB.

Hutton signed to a large (at least for him) pay increase as a back up.

Like the realistic Mason trade and your explanation for Myers. Certainly by next summer, the Jets have to figure out how jettison some contracts like Perrault and Little. But like your team as it gives the Jets the best shot for 2019 Cup run. PS. I don't think Trouba signs long term, so the jets might trade him this summer.

I think that your two Trade proposals probably make a lot of sense, but I think that Chariot could probably actually fetch a little more than a 5th (maybe a 3rd or 4th) and could probably be added to any team in the league looking for a 5-6 tough defenseman who can play many situations. Agree that Niku and Vesalainen will need to draw in this year to clear up some cap space with their ELC's, but I also think that if the Jets are going to dump Mason, they might as well trade either Perreault (preferably) or Little for picks and cap space and work toward signing Stastny. Removing both may actually be necessary as the Jets prepare to lock up Wheeler and Laine next summer. Not sure if the math will really check out, but I hope so. The team needs a 2C if they want to be a cup contender, which could allow Roslovic to continue to develop on the wing.

I'd love them to re-sign Stastny, but on top of the moves already made in this thread, you'd have to move 2 of Kulikov, Little, Perrault, and Myers just to make Stastnys numbers work. I think the Jets look at this year and think they want to change as little as possible for another shot at a deep run and hope Roslovic can play C between Connor and Wheeler who drive play well enough and let E-S-L take it to the house.

Like this thought! Check out my outlook on the 2019-2020 jets in my most recent armchairGM team, which includes some nice prospects and how the numbers could look for the Jets in the future. I think by doing less and developing, the Jets would be in a really good position. The young talent that they have, if it pans out in the NHL, could make them one of the deepest and most talented organizations from the top line in the NHL to AHLers to draft picks. As long as Chevy doesn't do too much and is able to dump some cap, they are set.
