You do know that Pacioretty only has 1 year left on his contract right? I guess you must also not know much about Sanheim and Ratcliffe.

And hard pass on your trade idea.

A swap of Pacioretty for Simmonds does nothing for us as we know what Simmer brings to the table. There is no reason for us to move down in the draft for this swap.

If the Flyers were one player away from a cup run season then maybe. We aren't trading a player we have been patiently waiting for away and a promising young hulking winger for an aging Patches in need of a contract at end of year.

I like the value, but we need a LD or C in return for Pacioretty. Its possible we could make separate deals to fill these needs. But as a stand alone deal, we are already deep at LW and RD.

I think you're underrating Pacioretty. He puts up 30 goals consistently. This year he didn't but it's just one year.

Ya just 1 year and he is now 30. Could he bounce back and put up 30, sure. Could Simmer do the same when not hurt all year sure. It makes no sense to give up one of our young stud D and a very promising prospect for Pacioretty when we are not in win now mode.

so does simmonds? What's you're point here? It's a terrible deal. Anything with Sanheim just isn't happening. Or Ratcliffe. it's not just us making this stuff up. Hexy has made it clear that his most untouchable assets are Sanheim, Myers, Hart, Frost, Ratcliffe, and Allison. So if any of those guys are included in a deal it won't be for a one year rental. For Patches maybe a 2018 2nd, conditional 2019 1st based on points scored, and a prospect like Lycksell/Hogberg/etc. He wouldn't move Sanheim for Hoffman before the issues came out and he had multiple years left on his deal. He definitely isn't moving out talent for one year rentals.
