I like this deal a lot. Here is a question for a topic of discussion, couldnt we do a similar trade for Hoffman (minus Blandisi)? that way we get 2 years for nearly the same term? and they are only a year apart in age.... or is will be be a distraction?

With the reports about Hoffman and his GF I don't want him anywhere near our locker room.

I feel the trade centers around Silfvy and then throw in another young player that isn't a top prospect with a pick, should be enough for Skinner.

That trade and the signing of Stastny gives us strength down the middle and 3 lines who can put the puck in the net.

My other question, do you take the risk of 2 rookie defensemen or do you sign a vet and only have 1 spot available?

It depends on who they can get. No more than 1 year on a yet defenseman, and they can’t be a liability. I think they will sign someone, just not sure who.

I'm with you. I would let the kids play and make a trade in the middle of the season if need be. Just pair the kids with a couple of the vets in the lineup and see what the team can do.
