I think this is an interesting idea. Ottawa gets rid of Ryan, while still getting someone like Boqvist or Wahlstrom. For the NYR to do it I think Zadina has to be available at 4, I don't think Tkachuk or anyone else would be worth the move up.

Exactly. It would allow them to get a much better return for Karlsson.

I like this deal, but with B.Ryan no longer on the books keeping Karlsson in Ottawa Becomes an option

i would especially see Ottawa doing this if it meant they can keep Karlsson long term

i would especially see Ottawa doing this if it meant they can keep Karlsson long term

opens/helps a lot of scenarios for Ottawa, along with NYR(Team with a ton of money/cap) at the same time gives Ryan a shot to revive his career a bit
