Why would Buffalo do that trade? I think MB needs to give up more than that!

O'Reilly want to get out , it gotta affect the price a little . I would agree that the deal favor Mtl . The second round picks are all almost first rounds selection .

Maybe Poehling , 2x second round (mtl) (chi), Juulsen + Byron ?

1. He has never said he has wanted out, in every interview he has said he wants to stay in Buffalo.
2. Even if he did it wont effect the price because there are several teams interested in him so GMJB can use the bidding teams against one another.

Which interview are you going to believe......

1. The first one during locker clean out right after a dumpster fire of a season where he was clearly frustrated with everything (my guess is he would have said take my dog as well at that point)

or

2. The interview during the World Championships where he clearly stated that he wanted to be in Buffalo and he wants to be part of the solution and he looks to being a Sabre for a long time to come;

You obviously are elected to follow the first as it fits the narrative you want to push. My guess is #1 was said out of distress and emotion where as #2 was done when cooler heads have prevailed.... I think #2 is a more likely assessment of the current situation.

GMBots will need to be overpaid in order to move ROR..... ROR provides GMBots exactly what he needs for his team as it currently is built so no reason to move ROR.

ROR is on the market at least some Tv insider think that way , not my fault .There is a lot of young center in Buffalo : Eichel , Reinhart , Mittelstadt so does he want to be a 3rd line center down the road ? i dunno ...

ROR will still be the #2C in Buffalo in 18/19..... Mittelstadt needs to develop and mature which is where ROR will excel being a mentor for Mittelstadt..... ROR's value will not decrease from now until a year from now.... ROR is consistent so he will put up his baseline points, kill it in the face off area, play the PP & PK and GMBots will be able to move him a year from now and get similar value...... ROR does not have a no movement clause so GMBots does not have that restriction to deal with.....

Bottomline GMBots has all the leverage in the situation..... he can sit chilly and do nothing and his team will be served well with ROR on it or he can wait for JT to sign and then test the waters to see if he can be overpaid for ROR..... either way GMBots wins.

Even in the first interview he said he wanted to stay in Buffalo. Go back and re-listen to it.

U r correct he has never said he wants to be traded or leave Buffalo in the first interview he stated he lost his passion for the game and he is tired of losing...... somehow people have been able to twist that into he wants out of Buffalo.......

Five stars for wanting O'Reilly
That is a very good offer for O'Reilly. Galchenyuk, is 3 years younger, $2,600,000 lower cap hit, scores at .038pts/min v .036pts/min for O'Reilly
The 2 seconds from this year is about equal to SJS 21st over all, then we get another 2nd next year. That is much more than TML got for Kessel from Pittsburgh.
I should add, other than the first 4 over all picks, normally having more picks provides a greater opportunity of getting a good player, so these 3 seconds are most likely better than the 13th or 14th over all.
Lastly, you know how I feel about O'Reilly, if without trickery you announce that you lost your love of the game it was a sincere honest statement, I do not want players who do not love the game on my team.
Maybe Botterill could do better, but this is MUCH more than DATM gave up to get O'Reilly and most people thought DATM over paid.

He has a 5 year contract, its not like he has a year left and is about to walk. They think hes on the block because he can bring the Sabres back a return that would change the franchise. Sabres can move Mittelstadt up to 2c if they get top 6 LWer, a A+ prospect, and a 1st or 2nd or some combination of that value. Galchenyuk wouldnt even be on Buffalos radar to start. May as well bring back E.Kane

I dont remember anyone saying GMTM over paid for ROR and remember quite the opposite. A failed prospect, a d prospect who had attitude problems that annoyed management, a college prospect a few years out and 31 OA for ROR and a middle 6 forward. The majority of people thought we fleeced Colorado and thats still debatable, but ROR had only 1 year left compared to 5. Needless to say Buffalo, if they move him, will get much more as he still has at least the same value if not more. I know you dont like him, but theirs no reason to devalue him just to move him, that only hurts the Sabres. ROR was the Sabres most consistent forward and debatably the best Sabre forward over the last few seasons, yes over Eichel.

He is a good player , i understand Buffalo fanbase doesnt want him out . I feel there is a natural trade possibility to make him a first line center in Mtl where i see a natural fit with Paccioretty who need a grinder with a touch while he roam the offensive zone .
Money talk and i think he is gonna get traded (wishful thinking some might say)

I think MTL could really use him, but they dont have much that I'd want in return, and everything I want, MTL would probably not be willing to trade, so I dont think their is anything there. Galchenyuk is not attractive and I can see him only causing more problems on Buffalo

Just today, apparently Botts was talking about a ROR for Dougie Hamilton swap. Take it for what its worth, but the value and demand is out there.

Eklund haven't talk about ROR to Mtl so it's still possible .
