2018 NHL Entry Draft

I'm the biggest Kotkaniemi fan out there. If Montreal drafts him at 3, they are incredibly stupid. If Bergevin wants him THAT bad, they 100% need to trade down to #8, #9, or #10. Get another few picks/prospects and draft him where he could end up. There's absolutely no reason they should take him at #3.

I have two reasons for this:
1. Kotkaniemi is probably the best center in this draft, and MTL is lacking players in that department. I think it's possible they plan getting a new Saku Koivu from him - basically a long time 1C.
2. Finnish media (yes, I'm a Finn) has been speculating with this, and it doesn't seem impossible thought. Of course it's unlikely, but not impossible.

No way Red Wings pass on Bouchard at 6. Right handed shot considered to be 2nd best d-man in the draft. Hughes is a left handed shot and small 5-9.

You could argue that Hughes would be better for Detroit due to him playing in Michigan and so he's easier to track for them.
