Dumb trade for Arizona.

Hi Alex. Who ever gets # 1 pick is going to be under "pressure" to trade Matthews to Arizona. The reason Matthews went to Switzerland is to be classified as a European for draft purposes, and gives him a little more leverage in delaying his entry into the NHL. Of course, the other consideration is where does Arizona pick in the draft. Maybe the inclusion of Domi might be too much, but Strome and eight overall might be the deal.
Like your Leaf team with couple of exceptions....Leafs don't need Quincey especially for three years. Or Harrington. Valiev looks like NHLer but maybe not at the start of next year. Carrick Connor looks like a Leaf Dman, and if the Russian Zaitsev signs with Leafs there is another RHD, along with Carrick and maybe Corrado. Maybe Victor Loov is on defence also, but I think a UFA Dman short term might be reasonable. Even Manrincin has looked good lately.

I say draft Auston and throw some money around at some big fishes in free agency. From there assess the progress and direct the path. This team will be very, very good.
