In the 3-way, Vegas get Pacioretty, since they are a contender and need a top winger in the event they lose Perron/Neal. In exchange, a really good center prospect, and next years first.
Chicago gets said prospect, plus Galchenyuk, in exchange for BOTH firsts and Toews. What this comes down to is :
A : They need to unload cap. Their aging captain is past his prime, but still incredibly useful to Montreal, who need a leader in the center position. Chicago needs center prospects, and in the position that they're in the draft, they would need to go off BPA to aquire that player. Suzuki has an extra year of development, and Galchenyuk is smack dab in the center of his prime, waiting to spread his wings. They save ~6 million for the next 5 years ,which comes up to 30 million. I think Chicago moves on from their aging stanley cup winners, and goes younger, and in Galchenyuk's case, nhl ready.
Carolina trade is focusing on Hanafin. Carolina will obviously be listening to all sorts of offers for him, so we need to make ours nice and sweet for the pot. A top 10 first, RD nhl ready prospect and finnish winger should be more then enough. Montreal also takes Rask, since they could use an extra C with some experience.
Using Nashvilles extra first, we draft Martin Kaut, Right handed RW Czech to pair with newly resign Plekanec, and freshly drafted Zadina for the Czech trio.
We dump Shaw for almost anything, and buyout Alzner since his contract is terrible and no one wants him. Shlemko and Benn for anything as well.
Montreal will run into some cap issues down the road, but nothing major for the next 3 years other then Sherbak.
The canes are done recycling young. They want nhl players and a return to the playoffs. Trading hanifin doeant happen unless they get a legit number 1 center back.
From Vegas down, none of these trades really fit. Max doesn't really help Vegas enough to warrant two pieces of future; Chicago might part with Toews if they decide to start a rebuild, but then wouldn't trade picks. The Carolina trade might be fair value, but it's not really the players the Canes need.

Yep, no worries. Just trying to get creative, and step away from all the (Nuge + 1st for patches etc...) stuff we see recycled every other thread.
did you really keep a straight face when you came up with a trade scenario trading toews, a #8 pick and another 1st for galchenyuk and a prospect? lol i sure as hell didn't when i saw that aweful trade.
