Description
I don't want Voracek traded nor do I think he will be traded but there are a lot of Flyers fans who for whatever reason hate the guy and want him gone. So I was wondering, if Hextall were to wake up tomorrow and decide he who wants to trade Voracek, what can we get for him. I made my own trade but please comment what you think we can get for him along with your thoughts on my deal

28-year-old Voracek with a $8.25m cap hit for 6 more years is worth more than 23-year-old Teuvo Teravaienen but not by much. Certainly not the 2nd overall pick.

It isn't the second overall pick, it's 2019

My bad. Still dont think that's good value for Carolina though, especially since they dont know how theyll do next season.
Voracek and his contract just dont seem like a smart acquisition.

Fair enough, personally I think Carolina should be in the thick of the playoff hunt and can easily make the playoffs but that's really a matter of opinion. But this trade aside, just wonder what we can get for Voracek. 85 point guy, long expensive contract. See him similar to Kessel when the Leafs traded him

canes don't trade the almost as productive teravainen and much cheaper teravainen for vorachek straight up. only way to move vorachek is to trade similar money.
leafs and their trading of kessel isn't really a fair comparison. leafs were trying to get long term cap space, with retention 6.8m and kessel had morphed into a average nhl player with the leafs. leafs got kapanen and with the exchange of picks, not even a first rounder in return.

First things first, I wasn't saying that the trade was similar to the Leafs one, was talking about the value of both players. Both had lots of term left on their deal, both around 8 million, both right wingers. The only difference was their level of production in the year they got traded. Am I possibly overrating Kessel? Sure, he's one of my favourite players but you're surely underrating his season if you're going to refer to him as an average player in that year. He was a good second liner production wise. With that being said, judging by your comment, you probably would agree that Voracek should get more than the Leafs did for Kessel. You look at what they got, it was Kessel, Tyler Biggs, Tim Erixson and a second round pick for Kasperi Kapanen, Scott Harrington, Nick Spaling, a first round pick and a third round pick. Leafs retain 1.2 million bringing his cap hit down to 6.8 million. Obviously looking back your thoughts can be different on it but the older players basically cancel out, Harrington was still a young D-Man with decent potential back then, and the very least he along with the third round pick cancels out the second round pick. You are left with Kapanen and a first for Kessel at 1.2 million retained. That's not a bad package. As for Teravainen another player I love, but you can't compare him to Voracek. One guy got 64 points playing with another young star in Aho, Voracek got 85 points playing with 30 point guys for 3/4 of the season. I don't think it's a stretch to say if you switch both players, Voracek does pretty much what he did but Teravainen's production takes a small dip. You also say much cheaper but that's only for a season. Teravainen's a free agent next year, don't think he'll get another 2 million dollar contract. Another season like this and you're looking at 6 million dollars. Did I maybe add too much? Sure. But pretty sure a team that wants to blow it up adds to that trade
