Description
Last years free agents were signed in my last post and I subtracted 1 year of their term. Kulikov trade was in my last post.

All free agents are given fair market value this year. Connor is given an identical deal to Ehlers' deal as a bargain.

Morrow's rights are traded because the jets can't sign him and don't need him.

Edmonton trades for Myers' rights to make sure they get him.

Perreault is traded for a conditional 1st and a 2nd to make room. Armia goes with him because the jets don't need him. Petan gets a fresh start.

Copp and Green are first call-ups

I hope trouba stays there.. He doesn't like to play for a Canadian team. Which is a bummer

I feel he will stay because Winnipeg is becoming a better city and Winnipeg is going to be a perennial contender for a long time

personally i dont think laine signs a contract under 10.5m a year. as the cap goes up so do salaries. Also that is a heafty price to pay for montreal. Don't think they will do it. Also that defense would be abysmal. you wouldn't win championships with that. just ask the hawks how smart it is to deplete your defense. if little is going to be pushed to third line duties, ship him off and better that defense.

Laine market value is 9. Eichel is 10.5
The 1st rounder is very unlikely but if he hits 50 its worth it because that means MTL is in the playoffs. The only thing lacking in MTL was scoring because of no centers.
Morrissey and Trouba is one of the best shut down parings in the NHL. NIku and Buff is also great. Poolman is solid in his own zone and will more than make up for Stanley's mistakes.
Little cant be moved because of his NMC until after the 2020 season ends. Little is also playing with young second liners so it is more like the jets have 2 first lines, 1 second, and 1 third.
I don't see any major holes in this team, you?

well, no i don't but i also think you are forgetting the perfomance bonuses. when you do the armchair gm team, the bonuses do not come into account. winnipeg has almost 6m in potential bonuses and they will hit at least 4.5m of that. Also, this is not in account of another year of laine and connor's performance bonuses too. if you think this was tough, in reality, it will get a lot tougher.

you can go over the cap by 7.5% of the ceiling (6, 150, 000) in bonuses
So I can have 6.15 million in bonuses over the cap for 2019-2020 and I can have 6 million in 2018-2019

Are you really saying that the habs do not need 2 2nd line centers and a puck possession god. It's not really a steep price to pay. A second for 2 young players and most likely a second and third for Perreault who isn't old either.
Wasn't center your biggest area of need. I answered that need. I will change that trade to Carolina instead or break it up.
Which players do you want? Perreault for same conditional pick. Armia for 3rd. Petan for 3rd. Or both for 2nd

Which of those three are 2nd line centres because they all have played in bottom six roles recently lol. Perreault has a history as an NHL level centre but it's hard to sell him as one as he hasn't played the position in quite a while. Armia is a 3rd line winger who's a great PKer and that's about it. We already have a better Petan in Hudon. The price you're offering those three for isn't steep but the need really isn't there. So yeah, call Carolina instead. Thanks but no thanks.

The one thing you got wrong in your response was that Petan is not a 2nd line center. Start him with a big player (Armia) and a sniper and you will be impressed. Petan is also a great passer (God on half-wall on pp)
Perreault doesn't play center because the jets have Schiefele, Stastny, Little, and Lowry. He is not a better center than the first three and Lowry is our checking center which is a role perreault doesn't fit. Perreault would produce more than little at center but little is a great 2 -way player. The jets have used him on 4 on 4 as a center and he is great, he creates chances and is responsible on defense.
Perreault would be a great 2C on most teams, especially MTL. You wont need a top center because you will have Zadina.

          If Not then?
Who should I send Petan to instead. he has 2nd line center upside
How about Armia . You hit the nail in the head for his role
          And Perreault? Solid 2C

I made this trade because I thought it benefitted MTL

If Petan is a 2C, then Charles Hudon is too. Very similar players in my eyes, both are good playmakers, skilled with the puck, hard-working and good on PP, Hudon has just been able to produce more at the NHL level. If Hudon can't cut it in the Habs' top 6 as a centre, then the chances are Petan can't either.

As for Perreault, if he's truly a 2C, then why did the feel the need to acquire Stastny at the TDL and not just slot Perreault in there. Instead they are using Perreault in the lower lines as a winger, where he is good but it's really hard to sell him as a 2C when he's not even close to be considered as one in his current team.

I like what Armia brings, but we have enough 3rd line PKing wingers. Don't need another one. This is not a knock on any of the players proposed, they are just not quite what we need. We want established top 6 C's, not wild cards like Perreault and Petan.

Petan has good upside and is better than hudon. The one season Petan played in the NHL,
Perreault did not have chemistry with Laine and Ehlers and want responsible enough on defence to make up for their mistakes
I will move Armia out of the trade if you don't want him. 2nd pick becomes third

If not who should I send the players to.
          Which teams, together or separately?

Petan has good upside and is better than hudon. The one season Petan played in the NHL,
Perreault did not have chemistry with Laine and Ehlers and want responsible enough on defence to make up for their mistakes
I will move Armia out of the trade if you don't want him. 2nd pick becomes third

If not who should I send the players to.
          Which teams, together or separately?

It's still a polite no. Don't know who might take that package but I'm sure there are a couple of teams that should be interested. Maybe Carolina?

There should be a lot of takers for all of them separately. That's really all I can say, fans of other teams can probably answer better than me.
