I'd rather keep Byron. He's too flexible to toss away like that. I've seen a lot of trades involving Patches and Panthers, This seems like one of the more fair trades, however I'm real picky with trading our 2nds. I'd take both 2nds off the board. Otherwise, decent I guess.

I think Botterill would give you a 2019 2nd for Byron

I do not think Chicago has a 2018 2nd.

Don’t think Florida would give us Matheson. He just signed a 8 year team friendly deal and will probably be their top pairing guy either this year or next. Most likely to come back in that trade is Bjugstad or Borgstrom

Byron is good and I think his cap hit nets a second for him the thing is though is that he’s had two surprisingly good season so it’s a question of if he can keep it up... if he does well again this year MTL might not want to pay him and if he does poorly he’s a UFA with no value

Agreed, but remember how Montreal got him in the first place? Suprise, as a UFA. Not everyone on the roster needs to be a 30 goal scorer, and if anything Byron has shown, it's that he's gotten better with us, and was the one piece that kept our 3rd line away from being a glorified AHL line.

They actually picked him up off waiver but that’s neither here nor there... also I find that Montreal has too many depth wingers so one of them ha to go

Bjugstad and a prospect (Mascherin or Hawryluk)......Tallon like to draft to much......maybe throw is a 2nd or 3rd rounder this year and get all three.
