Carolina gets a Top 6 forward Zuccerello that brings a whole new dynamic to a team that needs help at the wing. Namestnikov gives Carolina depth but also top 6-9 skill. Would be used at 3rd line center most likely. 9th Overall Pick with a ton of talent still left in the draft. Another 1st most likely the mid 20's. Throw in a 4th rounder as well just for the hell of it. I think this is a pretty even trade because of the 9th overall pick obviously being included. Given Zucc's talent and Vlad's raw skill Carolina would be stupid not to take this.

As a team rebuilding this isn't an overpay. Why would you keep Zucc with 1 year left when he'll obviously seek more money. Vlad is an RFA that probably won't take a bridge deal. This draft is lethal with talent. Svechnikov is the perfect guy to build with and around.

"Given Zucc's talent and Vlad's raw skill Carolina would be stupid not to take this." If so why do the Rangers make the deal? Carolina is weak at centre, and the trade really doesn't help them.
