Description
Vancouver needs to completely flatten out before rebuild can fully take place.

Trades:
Tanev is a good player when healthy but will not receive the return many people think he will on this site. I think a first round pick and a role player in Weal (From Vancouver) is fair value.

Trade Granlund to the Wild to play with his brother, Taking on Ennis cap hit and add a couple picks.

Florida fans I am not sure how you guys value Bjugstad. I have heard lots of negatives on this site, although he had deecent stats this year. He seemingly loost his his 3C spot this year and with Borgstrom and other prospects knocking on the door he seems like an odd man out. Florida has a nice roster and should be wanting to make playoffs.. so adding deecent vets on reduced contracts Del Zotto and Ganger plus a pick. Maybe a stretch, but might be possible.

Help Washington out by taking on Orpik's contract so they can resign Carlson. Pick up a couple picks for their trouble

Nillson is traded to whoever for a pick to make room for Demko out of camp. If he proves he is ready split them 60/40

This is a big year for Vancouver to truly find out what some of their players are like given opportunity. Virtanen, Leipsic, Goldy, Weal, Hutton, Pouliot. Find out if these guys are part of the core moving forward or not.

2018 draft.. most likely won't win lottery so draft a RHD (Boquvist, Bouchard, Dobson). As much as fans want Petterson, Dahlen Gaudette, Juolevi to make the team that is probably not best for their developent. Let them all play a year in the AHL together and come up the following season. DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON FREE AGENTS THIS SUMMER. Unless it is bringing in players on one year contracts. Allow time for young guys to develop plus the ability to flip them for picks at the deadline.

Load up on picks... the draft is in Vancouver so acquire as many as possible.

I definately think we could find a bit more for Tanev, rather than a 20-25 pick and a role player.
I don't see Biega as a regular, he is more of a 7th dman.
Look at Juolevi making the Nhl roster in a top 4 position. (In my opinion he replaces Pouliot.)

God it's strange seeing a rational Canucks fan in these parts.

Don't think you can move Edler for anything worthwhile or...? His numbers have been bogged down because of how poor Vancouver's been the past few seasons, but he's definitely the kind of guy that could fetch a 1st and a prospect. Is it a matter of not wanting to move him hoping he gets extended or do you think there isn't a good enough fit? Vancouver's in a situation where they need to move on from all guys that expire at the end of the season (if and when possible; doubt flipping Orpik or Ennis could actually happen). Getting as close to a guaranteed top-4 pick when the draft is in your own barn would make some of the suffering worthwhile for the fans. If it gets you closer to Jack Hughes and another kid to slot in the lineup next season or the one after, I think you gotta take it.

Quick look around the league and there's a list of teams that would happily add Edler to their back end for a deep run. Colorado, to me, makes a fair bit of sense. Defense isn't their strongest position at the moment and they'll have two 1st Rounders next season. Something like Edler for the 2019 COL 1st + 2019 COL 4th + (RD) Nicolas Meloche? At the very least, I think they'd entertain it.

4 stars mostly because I can't see FLA giving up Bjugstad for two rentals and a 5th, not with the three-headed monster at the top of their division. Funny how all 3 of Vancouver's allowable retentions are all in Florida...

Don’t think anyone gives up a pick for Nilsson unless the Canucks retain 50% of his salary, and Bjugstad probably won’t be going anywhere after he caught fire with Barkov during the last third of this season.

Edler will be an interesting one, as it’ll be another losing season for the Canucks and he could move to a contender, but that won’t happen until the deadline if at all. If he’s willing to waive, Van should definitely shop him.

I think I agree with some of the above. I believe Tanev could fetch more of a return from Philly, possibly a Sanhiem type player. Otherwise, I'm impressed at how fair these are! Could realistically see these happening.
