Edited: just saw this was in video games. In that case, given how long it takes drat picks to mature, and how much your own players can improve with the right coach, definitely trade draft picks. Great team. I knew one of us was missing something....

Well... dont' trade all your draft picks forever. In 2k7, anyway, the first couple years of franchise mode always had awful prospects, and then the game started to wonder how come you hadn't won the Cup yet and gotten bored, so it'd start throwing a bunch of 90s in the first round, and other teams would leave them on the board for me if I didn't trade up.
