You've just dumped a whole lotta cap on Flyers and Leafs who they might not be able to afford. Can't Weber be traded to any team besides the Leafs? Apparently not. Still think the Leafs would be 10 times better off, spending 7m on a player not named Weber and keep Grundstrom, Brooks, Rasanen and a first rounder. Martin with his contract is fairly easy cap dump. Same with the Flyers trade. Given Flyers 10.5m and the only money coming back to Montreal is 2.75m Weise.
Shirley, Weber and Price with their eight year contracts should be retained by Montreal. But the end of the contracts the Habs might be playoff contention.

That is true unfortunately. Montreal will have to draft them or steal them in a trade, first way is easier.
